Career path in business and information technology
A career in Business and Information Technology combines technical skills with strategic thinking to support organizational goals. Through this course, I have gained hands-on experience working with content management systems, cloud platforms, and container technologies, which has helped clarify how technical tools directly support business operations. Working with WordPress as a CMS demonstrated how businesses manage digital content efficiently, while deploying the site on AWS EC2 highlighted how cloud infrastructure enables scalability, availability, and cost control. These experiences show that modern organizations rely on IT professionals who not only understand technology but also how it aligns with business needs.
From a career perspective, this blend of business and IT skills is valuable because it prepares professionals to communicate across technical and non-technical teams. Tools such as Docker and Linux provide a foundation for understanding deployment, automation, and system reliability, which are critical in today’s cloud-based environments. At the same time, managing a CMS reinforces the importance of user experience, content strategy, and maintainability. Overall, this course has reinforced my interest in pursuing a career that bridges business objectives with technical solutions, allowing me to contribute to both operational efficiency and long-term organizational growth.
